Job Description


Freight Utility
Position Purpose:
The Freight Utility provides clerical and operational support throughout the logistics department. This role manages inbound and outbound shipment information, coordinates freight line and customer pickups, and ensures timely and accurate shipping processes.
Essential Functions:

  • Process production orders for truck shipments, ensuring compliance with shipping lead times.

  • Manage LTL, truckload, and expedited shipments (inbound and outbound) using Acumatica and TMS.

  • Calculate and apply customer freight charges and carrier costs to orders.

  • Provide timely LTL freight quotes to customers and internal teams.

  • Troubleshoot delivery challenges and develop practical solutions for time-sensitive shipments.

  • Assist with carrier freight bill audits and freight claim processing as needed.

  • Support parcel quoting and carrier invoice audits.

  • Enter international orders online when required.

  • Provide backup support to the LTL Office and OS&D Freight positions.

  • Assist sales by processing bid invites within Construct Connect.

  • Contribute to small projects as needed.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use

  • Familiarity with transportation and logistics software

  • Basic problem-solving and mathematical skills
