Sewing Production Assistant

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sewing Production Assistant to support daily manufacturing operations. This role assists sewing and production teams in the creation of high-quality products while helping maintain workflow efficiency, quality standards, and a safe work environment. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to meeting production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support sewing operators by preparing materials, handling fabric, and maintaining efficient workflow.
  • Perform basic sewing and production-related tasks as needed.
  • Load and organize cutting files, patterns, and layouts for production runs.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make minor adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect raw materials and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report more significant concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output, waste, and material usage.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and production-ready.
  • Assist with packaging, material handling, and other manufacturing support activities.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets and deadlines.

Schedule

  • Full-time position.
  • Overtime opportunities may be available based on production requirements.
  • Flexibility to work assigned shifts and occasional weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous sewing, manufacturing, textile, or production experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable attendance and a positive work ethic.

Job Requirements

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred 
  • Previous manufacturing, sewing, or machine operation experience preferred 
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production schedules 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality 
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the shift 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of material
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, moving machinery, etc.) 
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
