About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Operator to join our team at Novonesis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring products are packaged efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. This position involves hands-on work in a production environment, including operating equipment, handling materials, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, adjust, clean, and sanitize packaging equipment
- Prepare bags and labels according to production work instructions
- Verify lot and batch numbers and transfer materials into blenders or hoppers
- Package products through bagging, boxing, and stacking for storage
- Transport raw and finished products to and from freezer storage (up to -55°C)
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot minor issues as needed
- Complete production and inventory documentation accurately
- Support team members and assist in other areas during downtime
- Follow all GMP, safety, ISO, and sanitation procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Regular work in cold environments, including freezer entry/exit
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (occasionally, not repetitively)
- Standing, moving, and working independently throughout shift
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and follow production instructions in English
- Basic math skills (including metric measurements)
- Basic computer skills (SAP/ERP experience is a plus)
- Ability to use basic hand tools and operate pallet jack/forklift (preferred)
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
