Duties and Tasks:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all – inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Ensures safe work environment and practices
- Completes LOTO
- Set up molds
- Runs 1st piece samples
- Takes molds apart, repairs, and exchanges inserts
- Repairs or reworks damaged or broken molds and replaces shims and ejector pins when needed
- Connects and troubleshoots electrical heaters on molds
- Connects and troubleshoots cylinders and oil lines for heat transfer on molds
- Lubricates and cleans parts
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
- Identifies and uses correct hand tools
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
- Repairs or replaces defective parts
- Starts devices to test their performance
- Troubleshoots and repairs basic mechanical drive systems
- Repairs electrical equipment
- Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical circuits
- Performs basic plumbing
- Troubleshoots and repairs basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, including full understanding of line numbering and symbols used on prints
- Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
- Performs and maintains general PM’s, PDM’s, condition monitoring programs
- Supports and drives continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing (OPEX) initiatives implementation
- Fills out all required paperwork
- Other tasks as assigned by management

Education / Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years relevant experience
- Understands PM techniques
- Basic understanding and use of multi-meter
- Read basic wiring diagrams, including understanding wire numbering/coding and symbols used
- Understands Metric and English descriptions for fasteners, torque, etc.
- Understands fastener markings for strength in ISO and English format
- Ability to read mechanical and assembly prints
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other employees
Mathematical & Reasoning Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
