Overview:
The Custodian & Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Facilities Manager, is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency of the facility. This role combines routine housekeeping with building and equipment maintenance to provide a safe, welcoming, and fully functional environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning duties including dusting, polishing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and washing surfaces such as windows, counters, and walls.

  • Maintain and stock restrooms, ensuring they are sanitary and fully supplied.

  • Remove and dispose of office and common area waste;manage recycling materials appropriately.

  • Replace light bulbs and perform minor facility repairs as needed.

  • Conduct installation, repair, and servicing of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related building systems.

  • Maintain backup systems, alarm systems, and fire protection devices.

  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules.

  • Monitor building equipment performance and troubleshoot irregularities.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and replacement parts;anticipate needs, place orders, and verify deliveries.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other workplace safety regulations.

  • Record maintenance actions and communicate issues or system concerns to the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Prior custodial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and perform light to moderate physical work.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and initiative.

  • Commitment to safety standards and a clean, orderly environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders.

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
