Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Assembler II to join our manufacturing team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assembling electrical products, ensuring high-quality standards, and adhering to all company procedures, including safety protocols. The Electrical Assembler II will work within established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), utilize blueprints and wiring schematics, and ensure the efficient operation of machinery and equipment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to both individual and team success, producing electrical assemblies for both standard and custom products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Assembly and Wiring:
    Operate within detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), position overviews, wiring schematics, blueprints, and work instructions to assemble electrical components. Effectively wire products, which range from standard designs to non-standard or customized assemblies, ensuring all components are properly connected and functional.

  • Documentation and Recordkeeping:
    Accurately complete all required documentation, including timecards, quality control documents, test records, and standard work instructions. Ensure that all paperwork is submitted on time and in compliance with company protocols for record-keeping.

  • Adherence to Instructions:
    Follow both written and verbal instructions carefully to complete assignments. Ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest quality standards, while adhering to specified timelines and production goals.

  • Safety and Compliance:
    Strictly adhere to all company safety regulations and 5S standards. Follow safety protocols during assembly work, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others. Ensure compliance with electrical assembly standards, including proper handling of electrical components and tools.

  • Product Assembly:
    Assemble electrical products and components with attention to detail, ensuring proper functionality and quality. Work on a variety of assemblies, including both standardized products and non-standard custom builds, based on customer requirements.

  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
    Operate and maintain electrical assembly machinery, tools, and equipment with proficiency. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions to the supervisor. Utilize computer terminals, power tools, and hand tools as needed to complete assembly tasks.

  • Measurement and Testing:
    Use measuring and gauging devices (e.g., multimeters, calipers, etc.) to verify the accuracy of assemblies and ensure that products meet required specifications. Perform basic testing of electrical products to ensure they are fully operational and within quality standards.

  • Team Collaboration:
    Work closely with other team members to meet production goals and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment. Contribute to team effectiveness by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and working towards common objectives.

  • Additional Duties as Assigned:
    Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor or management, which may include cross-training for different departments or assisting with special projects.


Electrical Assembler II Specific Duties:

  • Department-Specific Proficiency:
    Proficiently handle up to 50% of assembly duties in your primary department as defined in the company’s Skills Matrix. Perform these tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating expertise in electrical assembly and ensuring a high level of accuracy.

  • Cross-Department Flexibility:
    Demonstrate a willingness to learn and become proficient in assembling various products in other departments as needed. This may involve taking on new challenges and adapting to different assembly processes to meet business needs.

Job Requirements

Basic Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • At least 1 year of experience in electrical assembly or a related field, with a preference for candidates with hands-on experience in electrical or electronic assembly.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong ability to read, interpret, and understand technical documents such as blueprints, electrical schematics, work instructions, and assembly drawings.
    • Proficient in using electrical tools, measuring instruments, and power equipment (e.g., hand tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes).
    • Experience in handling electrical components and knowledge of wiring techniques is essential.
    • Basic understanding of electrical concepts, circuit testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking:

    • Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems independently, and identify solutions during the assembly process.
    • Strong spatial reasoning abilities and the ability to apply this skill to electrical assembly tasks.
  • Organizational Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Able to maintain an efficient work area, ensuring that materials and tools are readily available.
  • Mathematical Skills:

    • Basic math skills, including the ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and understand measurements in inches, millimeters, and fractions.
  • Communication Skills:

    • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions precisely.
    • Effective communication with supervisors, team members, and other departments to ensure seamless workflow and task execution.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work in a standing or seated position for long periods.
    • Capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 25 lbs.) and performing manual assembly tasks that require dexterity and precision.
