Job Description

Overview: As an EHS Regional Manager, you will be a pivotal figure in ensuring the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety practices across our regional operations. You will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS policies and procedures to safeguard our employees, communities, and the environment. This position requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate with various stakeholders, inspire change, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Policy Development and Implementation:

    • Develop, implement, and continuously refine EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, regional, and international regulations and standards.
    • Collaborate with senior management to integrate EHS considerations into business strategies and decision-making processes.
  2. Risk Assessment and Management:

    • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and environmental impacts associated with operations.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
  3. Training and Awareness Programs:

    • Design and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, environmental conservation, and regulatory compliance.
    • Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship through regular communication and awareness campaigns.
  4. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Stay abreast of evolving EHS regulations and industry best practices to ensure organizational compliance.
    • Liaise with regulatory agencies and participate in audits to maintain necessary permits and certifications.
  5. Incident Investigation and Response:

    • Lead investigations into workplace accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Develop emergency response plans and coordinate drills to effectively respond to emergencies.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of EHS programs.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, highlighting EHS performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
  7. Supplier and Contractor Management:

    • Evaluate the EHS performance of suppliers and contractors, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and expectations.
    • Collaborate with procurement teams to incorporate EHS criteria into vendor selection processes.
  8. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

    • Lead and support initiatives to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance, including the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to identify and implement innovative solutions to EHS challenges.
