Job Description

Weigh In!!!

Detail oriented person needed that can precisely measure and weigh ingredients for compounding. Attention to detail is a must!

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
  • Communicating with production for services required.
  • Coordinating the timely delivery and pick-up of raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
  • Responsible for accurate computer transactions for related movement of materials.
  • Evaluating and recommending continuous improvement processes and methods.
  • Participating on cross-functional teams to improve operating efficiency. 
  • Performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Interfacing with other departments regarding material deliveries, etc.
  • Loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, tubs, racks, and shelves.
  • Conveying materials to proper storage area. Rotate stock as needed. Optimize space utilization.
  • Arranging for pick-up of empty drums and pallets through contact with applicable vendors.     
  • Operating industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Performing preventative maintenance on lift equipment.
  • Maintaining department housekeeping standards according to GMP and FSMA standards.
  • Cleaning area by sweeping or operating power scrubber.
  • Complying with all departmental safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Addressing and solving problems with orders, including appropriate departments.
  • Informing appropriate departments of order delays and shortages.
  • Performing cycle counts.
  • Providing excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Performing detailed SAP computer entries.
  • Adhering to guidelines as set forth by religious dietary law certifications

 

 

Job Requirements

To succeed you must hold:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift, preferred.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers regarding the status of the production process.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook. ERP system knowledge (SAP), preferred.
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with experience in a production environment preferred.

Working Conditions

Working environment is a production unit and includes frequent exposures to wet, humid, dusty, or loud conditions, moving machine parts, fumes or airborne particles and caustic chemicals. Occasionally company issued uniform is required personal protective equipment at all times.  This can include coveralls, dust mask, hearing protection, hair/beard net, safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; scoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and use foot/feet to operate machines. Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. (assisted). This includes repetitive bending and lifting of items to stack or dump.  Must be able to work under hot or extreme cold, wet, and sometimes-dusty, and loud conditions, dust mask, coveralls and, or hearing protection may be required.
