Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Programmer to join our team. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs to produce precision components in line with specifications and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machines, CAD/CAM software, and manufacturing processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. CNC Programming:

    • Develop, test, and implement CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
    • Translate technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications into efficient CNC programs.
  2. Machine Setup and Operation Support:

    • Collaborate with machinists to set up CNC machines and ensure proper alignment and calibration.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation or programming errors.
  3. Optimization and Efficiency:

    • Analyze production processes and make recommendations for improving cycle times, tool life, and overall efficiency.
    • Modify programs to enhance performance and reduce material waste.
  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct test runs and make adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications.
    • Maintain accurate documentation for all programs and revisions.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with engineers, machinists, and other team members to achieve production goals.
    • Provide training and guidance to machine operators on interpreting and running programs.
  6. Maintenance and Compliance:

    • Perform routine maintenance and updates on CNC software and hardware.
    • Ensure all programming adheres to company safety standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in CNC programming, machining, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in CNC programming or a similar role.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360).
    • Strong knowledge of CNC machines, tools, and manufacturing processes.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical documents.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines (e.g., 3-axis, 5-axis).
  • Familiarity with programming languages like G-code and M-code.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in precision machining.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [Insert Weight, e.g., 50 lbs].
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machine operations.
