Position Overview
The Bindery Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of bindery and finishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. This role plays a key part in the production workflow by ensuring projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate bindery equipment such as folders, cutters, stitchers, collators, drills, and trimmers.

• Review job tickets, layouts, and specifications to determine setup and production requirements.

• Set up, adjust, and maintain machinery for optimal performance and quality output.

• Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy in alignment, folds, cuts, and overall quality.

• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime.

• Monitor production runs and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistency.

• Work closely with press operators and production staff to meet deadlines and coordinate workflow.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

• Accurately log production data, materials used, and completed work.

• Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing finished products for shipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in bindery, finishing, or print production preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret job tickets, production specs, and mechanical instructions.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery.

• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team.

Work Environment
This position is typically in a print shop, manufacturing, or production environment. It may involve working near loud machinery and requires adherence to safety protocols.
