Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY Hatch is looking for an Accounting Assistant who will tackle the daily administrative and communication demands of our Milwaukee accounting department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (* = Essential Functions) 1. Communicate regularly with the Global Shared Services Team 2. Communicate with local stakeholders 3. Take on project work as needed 4. Watch cost centers and application of invoices to the GL 5. Process customer checks 6. Reconcile vendor accounts 7. Verify accurate processing of invoices against Purchase Orders 8. File Canadian GST/HST forms 9. File Wisconsin and other tax forms
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 1. Prior SAP experience is a must 2. Associates degree in Accounting or Proven work experience in Accounting 3. Ability to interpret and apply local tax laws and meet deadlines 4. Previous experience in foreign-owned entities 5. Strong communication skills 6. Strong math and research skills 7. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. 8. Ability to read, write and speak English.
WORKING CONDITIONS Working environment is generally favorable and in an office setting. Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and calculator, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
