Job Description: Janitor/Custodian

Position Overview: We are seeking a diligent and reliable Janitor/Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in our facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, lobbies, and office spaces.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing issues.
  • Monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are stored properly and inventory is maintained.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a janitor or custodian preferred.
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Good physical condition and strength.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Work Environment:

  • This position involves standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
  • May require evening or weekend shifts depending on facility needs.
